APITONG OIL uses Pure Tung Oil as a base, which hardens within the wood and provides long-lasting protection from moisture and mildew, even after the pigments fade out. Woodworkers always go to Tung Oil for their projects, but hardly any exterior finishes use Tung Oil because it normally takes so long to dry. This is a problem that we have overcome with APITONG OIL by adding compounds that make the formula dry and harden considerably faster than standard Tung-Oil.
The formula uses the same UV inhibitors found in automotive paint for ultimate protection against UV rays. Protecting against UV rays is important for Trailer Decking to avoid the wood graying out and becoming more bridle. As wood dries and becomes bridle it will begin to split and crack.

Coverage on rough lumber is 250-300 SF per gallon and 600-800 SF per gallon on smooth hardwood lumber.
APITONG OIL uses a high-quality fungicide to prevent mildew and mold from growing on the wood. Many of our competitors use inferior oils and no fungicide in their formula, which can increase the likeliness that mold and mildew will begin to grow on the wood over time with weather eposure. APITONG OIL has a high-grade fungicide in the formula to prevent this from happening.
